A Spontaneous Book Club!
Since I first met Diana Ferrus and EKM Dido, I started collecting South African poetry and prose. And of course, when I knew we would be going to South Africa to participate in Diversity is Power 2008, I bought books by Antjie Krog, K. Sello Duiker and Henk van Woerden. In Capetown I was happy to add the work of Tyrone Appollis and all the others in the Diversity is Power-collection to my book shelf. And now, now we just recently received a wonderful gift of many many pages of literature from our dear friend Diana Ferrus: The Scent of Oranges - Joan Zawatzky Ashley Kriel. Commemorative Publication Gemeng. 'n Versameling van ' gemengde' gedigte - Madge du Preez Bitches' Brew - Fred Khumalo We will roulate these books between the people in Suriname who have become 'infected' with this passion for South African literature too ...
